research

I am currently engaged in PhD research at Royal Holloway University of London. The research is entitled Performing the art of community, community as the art of performance  and focuses on the collaborative practices of Goat Island Performance Group (Chicago) and BodyWeather (originating in Japan) and includes investigations of strategies of embodiment and intervention in these practices. These practices and strategies lead to a particular ‘formation of attention’ to others and the surrounding environment, which has implications for re-thinking aspects of communication, relationship and  the concept of community.

also see my ACADEMIC CV LATEST for publication and conference papers. I am currently writing a paper for the symposium ‘ON COLLABORATION’ at Middlesex in May: working title –  “Weaving  a mesh of constant relation” –  laboratories  of Body Weather, radically a-cultural or inherently cultural?
